Have you seen our awesome new poster for 2020? It’s so awesome we think it might be our best poster yet!! We think it perfectly captures the twists and turns of 2020 and the momentum of life right now as we hurtle towards a new year!
One of the great things that has come from 2020 is that we’re finding new ways to connect with our community and that includes our festival sponsor Western Sydney University.
We had ten WSU students battling it out to be selected as the winner, with their artwork featured on all promotional content and social channels, plus our video highlights and TV show which will screen throughout the coming year.
So please put your hands together for our incredibly talented poster artist, Chiara Marshall, an illustrator and graphic designer who loves to draw cartoons and create fun and vibrant images. You can check out more of her work on Instagram @bratzoid
“Designing for Made in the West was a blast! I was excited to start working on the poster when I first read the brief, and I just leapt into designing straight away”, Chiara says.
“I was thrilled to hear my work was chosen for the festival. This is the first time my work will be seen at a big scale like this, so it’ll be very cool and surreal to see my designs plastered around.”
Western Sydney University is churning out the next generation of creative, kickass workers. We loved working with the Rabbit Hole and Chiara on this project! You can learn more about the Communications and Creative Industries degree at WSU here.
We can’t wait to see this amazing poster up in lights at the cinema!
Did you see our exciting news? We’re double the fun and triple the screens this year as we take over Event Cinemas Liverpool with TWO V-Max CINEMAS for one awesome night of short films, screening on Saturday 21 November!!
Plus, one week later we’re bringing the red carpet to you at home! Grab the popcorn, pour yourself a drink and settle in on the couch for a short film marathon, Western Sydney-style, with all the laughs and red carpet action included.
Stay tuned for updates on tickets and screening times!
Meanwhile, there’s only 1 DAY TO GO before submissions close for this year’s festival!
