We’d like to say a HUGE thanks to Event Cinemas (Liverpool) for joining us this year as our venue sponsor and helping us get Made in the West back to the western suburbs after four long years in the city. We couldn’t be more proud to have showcased Western Sydney films on such amazing big screen and we are already looking forward to working with you again next year.
Hats off to Geline Garcia, Peter Betts, Laura Bradshaw for their work on the 2018 highlights video. This crew spent the night covering the event while everyone else sat back to enjoy the show, so we thank them very much for that.

Amazing work Western Sydney!
Not only did we get over fifty short film submissions from Western Sydney filmmakers (that’s almost one film every week!), but we were also seriously blown away by the quality of the films being submitted -- and the crazy thing is, we said that last year!
We love seeing Western Sydney raising the bar year upon year and we’re so proud of the film work being made in the West these days.
Of course, selecting 14 finalists was really challenging, so this year we also featured a showcase of the short films that only JUST missed out on being included in the line-up on the night. Take a look -- we certainly had our work cut out for us!
Once again, we’d like to say thank you to everyone involved in Made in the West 2018 – from the 51 entrants, 14 VIP finalists, 16 semi-finalists, 3 major trophy winners and 8 individual award winners who submitted films, to our 9 VIP judges, 18 local sponsors, 2 hosts, the event crew, our first ever TV crew, and of course our 300-strong audience who contributed to the success of this year’s event – we couldn’t have done it without you!
