Made in the West welcomes MORE local sponsors

Today we’re announcing four awesome new sponsors for the 2018 Made in the West Film Festival!

Yes, you heard us right! FOUR more local businesses have put their hands up in support of the Western Sydney filmmaker community.

We think it’s pretty special that people are willing to support our local film festival and help us celebrate Western Sydney on film.

Made in the West doesn’t receive any state or federal funding, which means we rely on community support to help us make our festival a little bigger and better each year. We love recognising the great work of local filmmakers and it’s all made just that little bit sweeter when we get to hand out some great prizes to the winners each year.

So without further ado, here are the four local heroes that we’re proud to announce as our newest sponsors for the 2018 festival!

Since 1984, I.C.E has worked with Western Sydney communities, artists and creative producers to deliver professional development pathways for emerging cultural entrepreneurs. In 2010, they established a digital arts facility in Parramatta offering digital media and professional development courses, along with production and training programs that have helped hundreds of Western Sydney creatives. This is the second year that I.C.E is sponsoring Made in the West.

In 2018, Parramatta I.C.E is seriously upping the ante, offering four great prizes to our festival award winners! They’re pitching in one week in the I.C.E Sound Studio for the winner of Best Sound Design (features a full set-up with Pro Tools 10-11, Logic Pro X and more, plus a separate sound-proof control booth), and one week in the I.C.E Video Editing Suite for the winner of Best Editor (which features dual screen Mac Pro, Final Cut Pro 7, Adobe CC 2017 full suite including Premiere Pro and After Effects, and more). PLUS, they’re guaranteeing two of our trophy winners a seat at the table with Screen Australia or Create NSW at their next ‘Hot Desk’ sessions, so you can get first-hand advice about your next project and discuss pathways to finance and markets. We’re super excited to have Parramatta I.C.E on board again this year!

Creative + Business provides training, coaching, resources and events to help you find self-employed success in your creative field. No matter who you are, or where in your creative practice and profession, you'll find what you need – the right information from the right people, a bit of support, and the encouragement to inspire you to pursue your creative and business dreams. Monica and the team at Creative+Business are champions of the NSW arts industry and they’re all about teaching business skills to artists and filmmakers just like us.

This year, Creative +Business have donated two spots in their popular workshops for creatives. You can choose from workshops like ‘Deadlines, Dreams & Goals’, ‘The Grant Song’, ‘Time Management for Creative People’ and ‘Marketing Strategy for Creative Business’. Creative+Business workshops offer practical advice for practicing creatives so we know you’ll get a lot out them. We’re so pleased to have their support again this year!

Amazing People Pictures Amazing People Pictures is an independent film production company founded in London, now based at Fox Studios. The company was founded by Michael Budd and Liam Barrett with the vision of helping produce films that are outside of the box. Michael is a strong supporter of Western Sydney’s emerging filmmaker scene and is a long-time judge on our Made in the West judging panel. He has a wealth of experience and we’re very lucky to have secured a great prize from him again this year!

The winner of Best in the West 2018 will win a one-on-one consultation with writer/ director/ producer Michael Budd, so you can get his advice on how to approach making your first feature film, potential distribution pathways, and of course the big next step: breaking into the US markets. We’re stoked to be awarding this great prize to this year’s winner of the Audience Choice Award!

StarCentral Magazine was derived from the need to establish a publication that informs and promotes local artists, models, actors and entrepreneurs from all over the world. The aim of the magazine is to make the world aware that there is so much hidden talent out there that remains overlooked, untapped and undervalued. StarCentral Magazine is widely recognised as one of the leading entertainment sources in Australia that provides up and coming talents with an authentic platform. Their website garners 9.5 million readers annually and the print magazine has a readership of over 60,000. We’re over the moon to have StarCentral Magazine on board as a sponsor this year!

In 2018, we’re pleased to announce that the winners of Best Actor and Best Actress awards will earn themselves a feature article in StarCentral Magazine. This is a great opportunity for any budding actor to get their name out there in Australia’s most widely read magazine for actors and celebrities. StarCentral will also be joining us on the red carpet this year, with their snappers doing their best to ensure you all feel like the stars that you are, on this night of nights for Western Sydney filmmakers. We can’t wait!
